3. Signals
Signals automatically flag opportunities and risks across your customer base so that you, as a CSM, can act on them directly inside ImpactPilot. Instead of digging through your data, you get clear, prioritized signals together with the context and recommended actions you need to move quickly.
This article explains:
- Where to find your Signals
- How to read the Signals overview
- How to filter your signals
- How to understand why a signal was triggered
- How to act on a signal (create a deal, generate an email, create a task)
Important: Check with your ImpactPilot admin that Signals have been configured. If nothing has been set up yet, you won't see any signals. For setup instructions, see the admin article on configuring Signals in the Admin Guide section of the Help Center.
1. Where to find Signals
You'll find your Signals in HubSpot. Go to CRM and open the Signals tab.
Here you'll see all the different signals that are being flagged for your customers.

2. The Signals overview
At the top of the Signals view you get a global overview of everything that has been detected:
- Total signals : the total number of signals currently flagged.
- Categories breakdown : a pie chart showing how your signals are split across categories.
- Priorities breakdown : how your signals are distributed by priority.
- Top categories : the categories most frequently identified.
This gives you an at-a-glance view of where your attention is needed.

3. Filtering your signals
You can narrow down the view to focus on what matters most. Signals can be filtered by:
- Timeline
- Categories
- Owner
- Customer
- Priority
- Status
👉 Combine filters to quickly surface, for example, all high-priority signals assigned to you.
4. Understanding a signal
When you open a signal, you'll see the context behind it:
- Why it was triggered : a short explanation of why the signal popped up.
- Source link : a direct link to the trigger so you can verify it yourself. For example, a meeting note where the customer explicitly mentioned they want more users.
This means you can always trace a signal back to the data it came from before acting on it.

5. Acting on a signal
Once you've reviewed a signal, you can act on it in just a few clicks : directly from the Signals view. Depending on the signal, you have different actions available.
Create a deal
When a signal points to an upsell opportunity, you can turn it into a deal straight away:
- Open the signal and select Create a new deal.
- Choose the pipeline (e.g. Upsell).
- Select the stage (e.g. Opportunity Identified).
- Set the owner (e.g. yourself).
- Create the deal and resolve the signal.
In a few clicks the deal is created and sitting in your pipeline, and the signal is resolved.

Generate an email, summary, or chat message
When a signal flags a risk, for example, a drop in MAU for a client, you can let ImpactPilot draft the right content for you to act on:
- Under Recommended action, choose what you want to generate: an email, a summary, or a chat message.
- Review the generated text. If it's not quite right, use the improvement prompt to refine it (e.g. ask to make it longer).
- Copy the result so you can use or send it when you're ready.
👉 Emails, summaries, and chat messages all work the same way: generate, refine with the improvement prompt as many times as you like, then copy the final version.

Create a task
When a signal needs follow-up later : for example, a renewal account : you can create a task for yourself:
- Select Create a task.
- Add the details (e.g. prepare a renewal strategy).
- Set the date and time.
- Push the task to HubSpot.

6. Summary
With Signals you can:
- See all flagged opportunities and risks in one place under CRM → Signals.
- Read a global overview of totals, categories, and priorities.
- Filter signals by timeline, category, owner, customer, priority, and status.
- Understand why each signal was triggered and trace it back to its source.
- Act directly by creating a deal, generating an email, summary, or chat message, or creating a task, and resolve signals as you go.
You now have everything you need to spot opportunities, act on risks, and keep your Signals overview clean.
